Research
I am currently completing my MA in Social Psychology at the University of Waterloo (UW) in Ontario, Canada. My research lies at the intersection of motivation, self-regulation, and group dynamics. One promising line of research investigates how self-concordance can increase individuals’ identification with social movements such as feminism. Another topic of interest is how regulatory focus may affect how substitutible one goal is for another. I am currently developing a project examining how the “status quo” reference point shifts over time for individuals with a promotion or prevention focus. At this point, my interests are still broad, but they should narrow down as I continue to pursue the lines of research that are most promising.
